Arrive at Chennai and proceed to Pondicherry, which is one of the Nine Union Territories of India. This former French colony is a perfect combination of the traditional Indian sensibilities and French architecture, making it a dreamy escape that offers the best of both worlds. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening visit Seaside Promenade which is well maintained area, clean and beautiful and you can actually feel foam spray on your face while sipping a cooler in one of the many cafes at the promenade. Proceed for Pondicherry local sightseeing, proceed to Auroville where people of different nationalities, culture, religion, traditions all come together to truly live in peace and harmony. On arrival visit Auroville Visitors Centre and Matri Mandir's View Point. Return back to town and visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual community or ashram located in Pondicherry, French War Memorial - a structure which is dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War. After lunch visit Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple, which is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Evening you can enjoy heritage walk in Pondicherry White Town. Overnight at Pondicherry.
After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Mahabalipuram - a beautiful beach destination that is slowly becoming the surfing hub of the country. Speckled with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, courtesy of the ancient Pallava dynasty (3rd - 9th century BC), who were great patrons of art and crafts, Mamallapuram holds a baffling visual treat around every corner. Its awe-inspiring cave temples, sculptures and monuments leave one marvelling at the skill of the craftsmen of that time. On arrival at Mahabalipuram check in at hotel. Mahabalipuram Shore Temple an excellent examples of Pallava Art. Also visit Cave Temples, Krishna's Butter Ball, Five Rathas. After lunch proceed to Chennai enroute visit Dakshinachitra, Chennai's best open air living museum - a cultural centre of heritage, art, architecture, crafts and performing arts of South India. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at Chennai.
