It stands on top of an easily scalable mountain,which is situated right next to the beautiful Maota Lake. Today visit City Palace - The Royal Palace was built in the 18th century by the Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was the Rajput king of Amber. Some of the special features such as magnificent pillars, lattice or jali work, carved marble interiors and inlaid ornamentations make the palace beautiful in appearance and a treat to watch for the visitors. Jantar Mantar - an astronomical observatory used to measure the distances and positions of celestial objects. India has a total of five such observatories the largest of which is in Jaipur. The Jantar Mantar was constructed by Maharaja  Sawai Jai Singh II who from a very young age was fascinated by the movement of the celestial objects. Jaigarh Fort - Renowned for housing Jaiban, the world's largest cannon, the Jaigarh Fort, constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is located about 15 km from the city. Overnight stay at Jaipur.
